We value your privacy as much as we cherish our own. We promise never to spam you, or sell or share personal details you wish to remain private. However, to maximize what you gain from Kamusi, we need to keep track of some user information.
Anonymous statistics: we maintain general records about things such as the languages users search and the words they search for. This helps us know where to concentrate our energy.
Cookies: to maintain your custom experience, we might use browser cookies. This way, we can do things like remember your language preferences, or get you back to words you looked up recently.
Registration information: for you to contribute to the growth of Kamusi, we need to know some things about you. At a minimum, we need to know that you are one person, not a 🤖 robot, and your level of 🎓 knowledge about the languages you are interested in. Only registered users can receive credit for their contributions to Kamusi's continued development.
E-mail contact: we need to contact registered users from time to time. You may hear from us if:
we have an individual ❓ question for you, for example to clarify a submission you've made
we have information that affects all our visitors, such as resumption of service after a site outage
you have subscribed to a newsletter or other service, such as notifications of when your submissions are approved.
We make no guarantees about the 🔢 data we provide. By using Kamusi, you agree that we cannot be held liable for any damages resulting from your use of our data or services. Furthermore, you agree that any submissions you make to the project are 🆓 freely shared, in good faith, representing the best of your 🎓 knowledge, and with no expectation of ownership or financial reward.

Our biggest struggle is keeping Kamusi online and keeping it free. We cannot charge money for our services because that would block access to the very people we most want to benefit, the students and speakers of languages around the world that are almost always excluded from information technology. So, we ask, request, beseech, beg you, to please support our work by donating as generously as you can to help build and maintain this unique public resource.
