We're sorry

Our server is undergoing a major modernization upgrade. We are optimistic that we will be back in action in the very near future.

In short, we set up our systems years ago. Each backend service kept evolving in its own direction, and we kept running version upgrades, until the newer versions of the various systems crashed into each other and ruthlessly crashed our server. The usual recovery tricks didn't work - the only solution was a full tear-down and re-build of the entire back end.

As a small non-profit organization trying to tackle a big mission for marginalized languages with mostly volunteer labor, we have no coins to spare for a systems administrator. We've now gone out of budget to get the problem fixed, with an excellent partner firm with which we look forward to working on developing language technology into the future. We'll offer you the chance to help get our accounts back in balance as soon as we're back in service.

In the photo below, the redeployment team is reviewing the test version of the upgraded system, before we make the final changes that we push to a new and more powerful server. If all goes well, we will be reactivating our unique dictionary among 44 languages in early April, and rolling out exciting new features (one of which, in beta, already beats Google Translate in about 4,000,000 starting cases across five languages!) in time to follow.

We apologize for the long outage, thank you for your patience, and look forward to exceeding your expectations again soon!
